As a professional geological exploration team rooted in Yimeng for 66 years, the Seventh Geological Team of Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources thoroughly implements General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on industrial economic development, fully implements the spirit of the provincial conference on accelerating high-quality development of the industrial economy, firmly focuses on the industrial economy as the "main engine" and "ballast stone," continuously enhances the capacity to secure mineral resources and the capability of pioneering strategic geological services, and strives to serve the high-quality development of the province's industrial economy.

　　Passing the torch, supporting advanced industry with geology

　　Energy resource security is a major national strategy and an indispensable "food" guarantee for industry. Diamond, as the hardest natural substance in nature, is widely used in special industrial and scientific research fields and is undoubtedly the "pearl" of advanced industry.

　　As early as August 1965, the Seventh Team discovered the country's first industrially valuable primary diamond ore—"Red Flag No. 1" in Mengyin, Shandong, filling a gap in China's mineral categories. Over 66 years since its establishment, generations of the Seventh Team have passed the torch and forged ahead, vigorously promoting the "Red Flag Spirit" of diamond prospecting: "serving the country with geology, hard work, collaborative innovation, and pragmatic climbing." They explore in practice, innovate in exploration, and continuously seek greater breakthroughs in diamond prospecting.

　　In recent years, under the new round of national breakthrough mineral exploration strategic actions, the Seventh Team has further strengthened basic geological work, increased exploration efforts especially detailed surveys, and effectively enhanced the capacity to secure strategic mineral resources. They established the country's first diamond heavy medium beneficiation laboratory. They completed the major scientific and technological innovation project in Shandong Province on the theoretical methods and prediction of concealed diamond deposits, carried out scientific and technological research on diamond metallogeny theory and prospecting techniques, and compiled the national industry standard "Mineral Geological Exploration Specification for Diamond," providing technical basis and work standards for future diamond exploration and mineral administration in China. They conducted deep exploration of diamond deposits in Changmazhuang and Xiyu areas of Mengyin, discovering 4.952 million carats of diamond mineral resources. Shandong's diamond reserves have risen to first place nationwide, accounting for 58% of the national total, firmly fulfilling the political responsibility of securing energy resources and increasing reserves to ensure supply.

　　The Piyiguilaizhuang Gold Mine is one of the three major geological discoveries during China's Seventh Five-Year Plan period. Now that gold mining is nearing its end, the main mining area has been developed into a gold geological park showcasing gold production, work scenes, geological landforms, and ecological restoration as the main attractions.

　　Undertaking detailed exploration of the deep and peripheral blank areas of the Guilaizhuang Gold Mine

　　How to extend gold mining deeper and wider? Since early 2022, the Seventh Team has undertaken the detailed exploration project of the deep and peripheral blank areas of the gold mine, using geological surveys, engineering drilling, testing and analysis, and other methods to carry out deep mineral exploration around the mine, confirming 3 tons of gold metal.

　　Since the relocation and establishment of the Jinan Steel Group Jigang Casting Pipe Project in Lanling County, higher requirements have been put forward for the regional iron ore resource security capacity. In 2022, the Seventh Geological Team actively connected and successively undertook the detailed exploration and prospecting projects of the deep iron ore in the Pingshanhou mining area of Lanling County, gradually clarifying the deep resource endowment of the mining area and estimating an additional iron ore resource of more than 60 million tons.

　　The Seventh Team always keeps the "major national interests" in mind, focuses on major national strategies and the overall work of the provincial party committee and government, fully plays the role of the geological main force, and has made substantial progress in gold, iron, and non-metallic mineral exploration. Since 2022, six new mineral deposits have been discovered, and one prospective mineral exploration area has been delineated. They submitted an additional 42.63 million cubic meters of construction-use diorite resources and estimated an additional 962.51 million tons of rock salt resources, ensuring that the "industrial food" rice bowl is firmly held in their own hands. They have made important contributions to enhancing the brand of Linyi as the "Diamond Capital of China" and "China's Largest Building Materials Base."

　　Taking responsibility and acting to serve key projects with quality and efficiency

　　During this year's Spring Festival holiday, the construction site of the 1GWh composite titanium-lithium battery production project of Lancheng Titanium Era in Lanshan District, Linyi City, was busy, with excavators, tower cranes, and other large equipment working in coordination, and multiple work fronts such as pile foundation construction, slab erection, earth excavation, and base slab pouring progressing simultaneously.

　　The Lancheng Titanium Era project is a key project in Shandong Province in 2023, mainly producing composite titanium batteries. The products are widely used in crew vehicles, commercial vehicles, and the State Grid energy storage system, belonging to a recognized strategic emerging industry.

　　The rapid progress of the project is inseparable from the efforts of the Seventh Team. They entered the site on November 5, 2022, to conduct detailed geotechnical engineering surveys and completed the work within five days, providing not only detailed geological data for the project but also the optimal foundation scheme for project construction. Despite the cold weather and snowstorms, the Seventh Team vividly remembers the hardships behind the high-quality and efficient completion of the work.

　　In the past two years, the Seventh Team has fully leveraged the pioneering, fundamental, public welfare, and strategic roles of geological work, providing geological survey services for more than ten key industrial projects and industrial parks in various provinces and cities: Yixin Optoelectronics Precision Electronic Glass Project, Yikang Materials Technology Neutral Borosilicate Pharmaceutical Glass Project, Linyi Laser Industrial Park Phase II Project, Shandong International Science and Technology Mold Industrial Park Phase I Factory Project, Linyi Engineering Machinery High-end Hydraulic Parts Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park Project, Linyi Electromagnetic Industry Park Project... Each project has achieved rapid progress, and the Seventh Team's high-quality service level and superb service capabilities have been unanimously praised.

　　"Perspective Shandong" is the Ministry of Natural Resources' first provincial pilot project for "Transparent Land" construction, aiming to build a three-dimensional geological model of the entire province and comprehensively improve the intelligence and scientific management level of mineral resources and geology. The Seventh Team took initiative and acted positively, completing three-dimensional geological modeling projects for the regions of Linyi, Zaozhuang, and Rizhao within one year, cumulatively completing 68 three-dimensional geological profiles, constructing 370 three-dimensional geological cells, and building and debugging a three-dimensional geological model covering nearly 19,000 square kilometers, providing strong support for the development of the industrial economy and even the national economy.

The establishment of the High-Resolution Linyi Center and the Geological Resources and Environment Big Data Center was unveiled, successfully applying for the Linyi City Key Laboratory of Geological Carbon Sequestration and Low-Carbon Land Use, creating the "Green Waters and Mountains Unified Map" of Linyi City, and gradually building a scientific and technological innovation platform consisting of "Three Stations, Three Offices, Nine Centers, One Innovation Team, and One Field Base"... On the path of vigorously implementing technological innovation and empowering industrial economic development through digital transformation, Team Seven has always marched forward steadily.
